Programme on Human Rights issues

Rev. Fr. Yogeswaran,SJ, an attorney at law, conducted a two day programme on Human Rights issues and explained about international and local Human Rights Regulations. All the superiors and most of the members of the ‘Holy Cross Peace and Reconciliation Committee’ participated in this programme held on 08 to 11 October 2007 in Colombo. Fr. Yogeswaran explained about Basic Human Rights, Rights of Children and Women and the type of remedy we could take to prevent Human Rights Violations that are taking place in our country.

Sr Rose, FMM addressed the gathering on Peace and Reconciliation with firm conviction through her personal experience and biblical concepts. Sr Rina, too, conducted a workshop in conflict management, which was very useful for us as community leaders and peace builders.
