Message of the General Chapter

We, the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Menzingen have a General Chapter every six years. The General Chapter is the highest authority of the Congregation and comprises of the General Administration team, the Provincial Superiors, and elected delegates. Among other things the General Chapter will set the direction of the Congregation for the next six years.

Through visits and contacts (2002 to 2007) the General Administration had a good overview of the different provinces.  Many problems and questions of today’s world challenge us.  We are affected and questioned. And because of this the General Administration looked for a theme that will be significant for the whole Congregation.

The General Chapter discussed and deepened this theme from various aspects.  And through them we have found answers and solutions for the many challenges which should be implemented in each province according to the challenges faced by them.

These directions of the General chapter is summarised in a document – the Message of the General Chapter 2007. There the General Chapter gives the task for the next six years, and suggests steps that we need to make with one another.
